Meet our Pastor

I would like to introduce myself and my wife, Scott and Carol Patton, as your shepherding team. We became part of your family at Taft MC on July 1, 2018.

Now, a little bit about myself. I am 51 years old, and together, Carol and I have five sons and nine grandchildren. I have felt God’s desire for me to shepherd for many years, and now he has guided us to you. I have been a Lay Pastor for the Nazarene church, a Chaplain for Rockford Memorial Hospital, a Chaplain for Rockford Police Department, and currently for Nueces County ESD2 in Flour Bluff.

I have been blessed, not only by finding God’s soul mate for me, but now, the ability to fulfill a dream to be a blessing to God’s children.  We come to you, not only as your Pastoral team, but as a part of your family to be Disciples of God, and to ignite Taft MC  and its community. We want to come together to promote the church and to put the focus back on God! We also want to further God’s Great Commission for our Community and the World.  Our goal is to become one with you and to start a flame within the Taft Community and the Coastal Bend so that we can draw as many of God’s lambs to his altar.

 

My Lovely wife, Carol Patton, is 54 and a retired Kindergarten Teacher. She taught in Flour Bluff ISD for 30 years. She is being called into this ministry with me. God’s plan, not only for our life but our ministry, has been amazing. Carol offers so much to this team as well. My promise to you is that you are getting a loving Shepherding team and a couple that wants to be part of your family.

 

So, as we make this transition, we ask you, our new family, to pray for us and for God’s desire and will to be done. Please start praying for our Community and all the chances that we are going to have to spread the love of Christ. We will be looking to God, and to all of us as a team, to create new and amazing directions to spread the love of God. I know, with God at the head of this ship, He will guide us to big and amazing adventures for Him.

It is my honor and privilege, not only to say that I am your new Pastor, but that we are now part of your family. We are so excited to get started on this journey with ya’ll. Have a blessed day!
