Taft Resale shop

Hours: Currently Closed Until Further Notice

History:

In January of 1982, Mrs. Lena Toland suggested the possibility of having a used clothing store to be run by the First United Methodist Church of Taft. The building owned by the American Legion was loaned to the church to be used for the shop. In March 1982, after much work and effort, the shop was opened for business! Several years later, the building was given to the church.

All proceeds from the shop help the needy. The shop receives donations from the people of Taft and surrounding communities, and the proceeds from the sales benefit not only the local population, but state and national ones as well. Some local entities that have benefited from the resale shop are: Good Samaritan Mission, Taft ISD, and the Salvation Army. Not only are the monetary proceeds donated to those in need, but clothing items are as well.

The workers at the shop donate their time on workdays and during the sore hours. The volunteers represent churches from Taft and the surrounding areas.

With God's blessings, the Resale Shop will continue to assist those in need.
